TIMELY INFORMATION : Scholarships available: The deadline for the $1000 Scholarship we award to a future teacher starting college in the fall has passed. This year's scholarship winner will be announced and honored at the May meeting. The big change this year for the state scholarship available to a college student is that any IRTA member can nominate any eligible college student who has been accepted into an Indiana college/university's education program. All of the requirements are outlined on the first page of the attached application. All the IRTA member must do is fill out (or provide) the last three lines on page one of the application, giving name, address, and membership number. The applicant no longer has to be related to an IRTA member. Feel free to call the number on the application if you need more information or have questions. Deadline in April 26. Here's a Recap of our March Meeting: 1. Our program was provided by the Avon High School song and dance group THE ACCENTS and their director, Leah Trigge. Although scheduling conflicts made it impossible for them to use the stage, they still gave a stellar performance for our group. As always, an added bonus for the members was when several of the cast members and/or crew recognized some faces in our group. Thanks for a terrific program, ACCENTS and good luck in competition.
